We sometimes give too much authority to others for various reasons. For example, we might be afraid that if we assert something, we will be disliked. We then end up placing too much importance on our relationships with others. Of course, it is important to be considerate of others, and we cannot ignore it in society, but we need to think about our relationships with others based on what is important to us and what makes us happy.
