The next full moon will happen on November 26, 2019, at 3.06 pm UTC.
The Nakshatra is Anuradha.
Some people look at any situation in life in terms of profit or loss.
“Am I gaining from this situation or not?”, they ask themselves.
But what is gain and what is loss, really?
What we have considered loss may turn into an advantageous situation and what we thought would profit us can turn into loss.
In any case, most of the time, it is based on a (probably financial) “profit or loss” calculation, and once we will gain more discrimination, we may be able to see more clearly how the situation really is.
For example, any volunteer activity, service or Karma Yoga is work using one’s ability but without compensation. Does “no compensation” equate to loss?
The scriptures say that such work allows us to reduce our ego.
Once our ego is reduced, we get less upset. Because we have more love and compassion, and less expectation and desires.
The next fortnight until the next full moon is a good time to think about what we consider “profit” and “loss” in our life. If we want to do something, or if we are offered an opportunity, it is good to take one step back and consider all the sides of the equation – not only financial considerations. An unexpected reward may be waiting for us at the end of the effort. Om Shanti.
