The next New Moon is a Total Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, happening on December 4, 2021 at 7.33 am UTC, Jyestha Nakshatra.
Since we were very young, most of us were educated to become “proper adults” with a “proper job”, getting into a “proper relationship” leading to a “proper family” and having a “proper life”. But at times, we have to redefine the word “proper” to suit us, not to suit anyone else, not our parents, our family, our friends, our teachers, our society. And it can be hard! Because sometimes it can mean a total transformation. We have to understand who we are at first and redefine our notion of ourselves completely.
This Total Solar Eclipse is such a timing. Nothing may happen on the day of the eclipse. Eclipses in the Taurus/Scorpio axis have been happening since June 2020. So for a year and a half, corresponding more or less to the pandemic period, we had to redefine our lives. Some have been transformed during this period, some may still be resisting, which is fine. We all hear a click in our heads when it is time to transform ourselves into what we consider is the best way at the time. It’s a case of lather, rinse, repeat.
On this Total Solar Eclipse, we might think about what stirs fear or anxiety in us. Does the new virus strain scare us? If so, why? Does someone make us feel anxious? Are we overly worried about things we cannot do anything about? The time of the eclipse is such a time, but this one is especially good to go deep within ourselves to understand, contemplate and be aware of what makes us unsettled. When we manage to see it a bit more objectively, then we are on track to repair ourselves, to receive the blessings and to understand what truly is “proper” for us. Om Shanti.
