Namaste from India!
The next full moon will happen in Cancer and is a lunar eclipse. It will take place on February 11 around 0h43 GMT.
They say “too much of a good thing”.
Having too much of a good thing is not necessarily a good thing.
What we have and what we can be satisfied with depends on the person but one of the keys to happiness is “contentment”.
Knowing how to be content with what we have at the moment is a key concept. You have the same expression in Zen Buddhism and in Yoga, the Sanskrit word “Santosha” is one of the Niyama or observance.
We all tend to want more than we have, be it material or spiritual. In order to make us understand this, we have around us people who have more than us.
But the discontent that happens when we focus on what we don’t have – instead of what we already have – becomes poisonous and undermines us.
If you are reading this right now, you have at least a place to live, something to eat, and access to Internet. What else do you really need?
Why not think about “contentment” on this lunar eclipse? If we understand this now, it will be easier to experience the month of August this year. Om Shanti.
