The next new moon will happen on February 4, 2019 at 9.04pm GMT, 21 degrees of Capricorn, Shravana Nakshatra.

2019 will be a year of change. Some things will have to be let go of in order to complete the transformation. The more attached we are to people or things, the more challenging it may be to change.

For about a month and a half after this new moon, Mars will transit Aries so there will be a lot of energy available for new activities or moving our body. At the same time, ego will become stronger too. When we try to become aware whether our actions are led by raga (likes) and dvesha (dislikes), we may understand what we need to let go. The highly spiritual Shravana is linked to the ears. It is a new moon very appropriate to listen to our inner thoughts.

A flower does not say “I want to bloom here because I like this place, I don’t want to bloom because I don’t like this place, I don’t like pink so I want yellow flowers, I don’t want to be eaten by cows”. A flower blooms where the seed has been sown, according to her own DNA. This is something to think about until the full moon in two weeks’ time. Om Shanti.
