This world is made of desires.
Today I was watching the local news. People were arrested for fraud, sex crimes, hit-and-run and bribery.
All these issues stem from our own desires.
There can be positive or negative desires and wishes. Greed is desire, as well as eagerness or determination.
The real issue here is whether the desire is based on Dharma (or right conduct).
We may wish to improve ourselves or to help others.
Or, we may want to have everything for ourselves, we may want to avoid punishment, we may want to gratify our own desires without consideration for the other person.
Our action influences others at every moment in time.
We have to be selective in what we “desire” because that will inevitably influence others.
The lunar eclipse and the solar eclipse in two weeks bring change and transformation.
Nothing may happen if it does not directly affect our birth chart, but people affected may experience hardship and instability. Some people can be impulsive so we have to be careful not to hurt people around us or, if we are on the receiving end of such impulse, not to hit back.
Now more than ever is the time to bring our awareness to contentment. We can always connect to abundance. This period is excellent to reflect on what we want and desire. Om Shanti.
