In Japan, it is customary to clean our house in the last days of December to welcome the new year in a clean environment.
But this year, many people may not have the energy to do it. Then, it’s okay to let it be. If the thought of cleaning – or doing anything – is too stressful for you, just sit down and relax. We tend to structure our mind into “we must do/buy/cook this now” but do we really? Thinking about this will allow us to meditate on what genuinely makes us feel good and happy.
As currently Mercury is retrograde and there are two sign exchanges in the sky, things may not be as they appear right now. So it is good to connect to the kind of happiness that does not depend on people or things but more on intrinsic and universal values.
If you only had a month to live, what would truly matter to you? More money, more clothes? What new seeds would you like to sow for your future life? It’s those seeds you want to grow in the new year. This is something to be mindful about on this new moon.
Thank you everyone for reading my lunar messages this year. We have learned many things in 2016, I am looking forward to more (well, I’m in Rahu Dasha) in 2017. May all of you experience peace and joy in the new year. Om Shanti.
